Hula Classes
All adult hula classes are currently taught by Director Michele Malia. Hula Fit offers both a strong foundation in hula steps & basics, and endurance & fitness hula workouts to dancers of all levels.
Intro to Hula - Ages 14+
A one-time introductory class where you will learn 4 basic steps to see if Hula is something you wish to continue.
Students with little or no hula background will learn basics and body strengthening. All Hula Fit students who have never danced hula must take Hula Basics.
Hula Workout- Ages 14+ The Hula Workout class is a recreational hula class which students can use to get and stay in shape and practice their hula skills. Class starts with 15 minutes of warmup, then moves into a series of learned hulas, ending with a 10 minute cool-down. 1st session of each month is dedicated to learning a new dance for future workouts. Some hula or dance experience is preferred. Inexperienced students may take both Hula I and attend Hula Workout.
Hula Cardio - Ages 14+ The Hula Cardio class is a 30 minute combination hula and fitness class which students can use to burn calories and get all the benefits of cardio exercise. Class starts with a short warmup, then moves into a series of hula/cardio moves, ending with a relaxing cool-down. Inexperienced students may take both Hula I and attend Hula Cardio.
Hula Buns and Abs- Ages 14+ The Hula Buns and Abs class is a 30 minute combination hula and fitness class which students can use to tighten up those buns and abs. Class starts with a short warmup, then moves into a series of hula/strengthening moves, ending with a relaxing cool-down. Inexperienced students may take both Hula I and attend Hula Buns and Abs.
Polynesian Mix Workout- Ages 14+ Class starts with 15 minutes of hula basics warmup, then moves into a series of vigorous Tahitian routines and fast hulas, ending with a 10 minute cool-down. 1st session of each month is dedicated to learning a new routine for future workouts. Some hula or dance experience is preferred. Inexperienced students may take both Hula I and attend Poly Mix Workout.
